University Centre is a new dormitory facility completed in 2007 for students attending Rutgers University and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Subway/EZ Mart and WOW Wingery and Cafe have signed leases for the building's two retail spaces.
Located at 250 Central Avenue in the University Heights section of Newark, NJ, University Centre has 838 student residents living above the retail space. Approximately 30,000 students attend the Rutgers Newark campus, NJIT and Essex County College. The Newark Light Rail Warren Street stop is less than a block away, as well.
The retail at University Centre is an ideal location for stores that cater to the student population, including restaurants, cafes, copy and print shops, and convenience stores.
